Welcome to the 300th edition of Open House. The first edition, in December 1990, devoted several pages to the creation of ACTS (Action of Churches Together in Scotland) which it welcomed as a sign that centuries of division and suspicion had cleared sufficiently to allow the establishment of common interchurch structures. That the Catholic community had overcome the caution which kept it on the sidelines of earlier interchurch structures was seen as evidence of its increasing confidence as a community. The welcome given by other participating churches to its ‘belated arrival’ was seen as a testimony to their generosity of spirit.
